State Fair 2004

Education Minnesota again shared their booth with other education organizations. In what has become a yearly tradition, MCTE brought Hogwarts to the Fair on Saturday, September 4. Fair-goers contributed to a star rating on our AYP (Asking Youth about Potter), leaving no Hogwarts fan behind. We are proud to report a 100% passing rate on both the O.W.L. and the N.E.W.T. Level Exams! The surprises of the day were the number of adults eager to take the quizzes and the number of fans who said they were going to have their certificates framed.

MCTE also distributed bookmarks to color, parent brochures with tips for guiding students online, wizard bookmarks, Prisoner of Azkaban door hangers, as well as the coveted O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. certificates.
Fair-goers met Hogwarts staff currently teaching at Becker Middle School:
Wayne (Sorting Hat) Johnson, Sandy (Prof. McGonagall) Hayes, Greg (Headmaster Dumbledore) Lynch
Also visiting from Hogwarts: Josie (Professor Sprout) Vandewege and John (Hagrid) Vandewege. And from Champlin Park High School: friend Anne (Professor Trelawney) and Rachel (Madam Hooch) Malchow Lloyd
Answering the Hogwarts exam questions sometimes took concentration . . .
. . . And family support.
Harry Potter fans of all ages, took their OWL and NEWT oral exams.
