San Francisco-based filmmaker David Yanofsky has recently completed his first feature film entitled Poetic License, a one hour documentary. He spent two years on the project, guiding it through all stages of production. In addition, Yanofsky is currently at work on creating a comprehensive multimedia curriculum packet that will accompany the film and be used in the nation's classrooms and after school programs.

In 1999, Yanofsky formed Straight Ahead Productions, a company dedicated to creating dynamic educational content for secondary schools. Seeking to marry the established technologies (video and text) with the emerging ones (the web and interactive learning), Poetic License and the accompanying curriculum packet is the pilot model for this type of content.
